Winter Workout: Skiing

Downhill skiing makes for an exhilarating, high-intensity workout, and if you have the time and money to hit the slopes, go for it. But don’t forget about cross-country, which it’s easier on both your joints and your wallet. Cross-country skiing is also an incredible way to enjoy solitude and the beauty of a pristine winter landscape, and it burns up to 750 calories an hour.

Note: No matter what form of winter exercise you choose, be sure to dress appropriately, stretch before and after, and pile on extra sunscreen.
