Drinking

My doctor told me that i should never drink alcohol more than 4 times per week, but you read that a glass or two of wine a day is good for you. I enjoy drinking a glass with dinner but also wonder which is right.

Alcohol affects every cell in the body. Not in a good way. The reason some people thing a glass or wine may be good is because it has resveritrol. This is suposed to slow down the aging process. Problem is you would require about two cases of wine in one sitting to equal taking Resveritrol suplements. Dont bother swallowing this in pill form, your somach acids kill it off. Go sublingual on this on. I tricked my ma into trying a new type of red wine. It was pomagranet juice. She didnt say anything and asked for another glass before I told her.

2 cases of wine would certainly not slow down my aging process - it might kill be in a youthful kind of way.

My doctor will have to pry my nightly glass of wine from my cold, dead hands. I think if you're an otherwise healthy person, a glass or two of wine is perfectly fine. Life is to be enjoyed!

Maybe you are drinking wine to relax, and should try meditation or yoga when you get home instead? Just trying to be helpful :)

Yeah, physiologically, there's not much good to be said about alcohol, whether it's red wine or whiskey. The stuff is basically treated as poison by the human body. But as an avid (yet moderate, most of the time) drinker myself, I cling to the belief that the psychological benefits outweigh the physiological risks. After all, that glass of wine -- or two, or three -- at the end of the day often seems to make everything seem a little "rosier."

To me it depends on the user and the degree of self control he/she can muster. The problem I face is saying no, like I should, to a third helping...

the older I get, the harder it is for me to recoup from alchohol. I have half a glass of wine with certain foods just because I love the taste so much, and I must admit that one small bushmill's on the rocks takes the edge of a rough day, but my days of two or three drinks in an evening are over and done. I agree with Barnabus: physiologically there's nothing good to be said for it, especially after age 25.
