Clean up after cooking. Don’t let foods sit out as it can attract fruit flies or bacteria can start to grow. When doing dishes, use hot water, soap and make sure your sponge is changed out frequently. Also, you can use separate cutting boards (choose two different colors to easily distinguish their use) for meats and vegetables/fruit to avoid any possible cross contamination.
