Mindfulness Meditation: Enliven The Mind With Meditation

When we meditate we are often aiming to clear our minds of all thought and worry. During insightful meditation (or Vipassana), however, we aim to improve our focus and heighten our awareness of what happens around us at any given instant. Done properly Vipassana will free your mind of scattered thoughts and awaken your consciousness. Make it your goal to meditate for at least 15 minutes every day. Try the conventional yogic method - sitting up straight and focusing entirely on your breathing - or meditate in a more casual fashion, simply by enjoying small moments and delighting in your experience of the world.

Casual meditation does not require any special place or time. Try it while performing daily tasks - for example, while drinking tea. Rather than sipping blankly, focus on the aroma, visualize the color and savor the taste with every sip.
