Holistic Approach: Skin Care for Every Season

Glowing skin is an indication of both health and happiness, so let your complexion shine all year round with a skincare routine that works in every season. Your skin needs extra TLC in the summer, so make sure you don’t skimp on the essentials: clean, tone, and moisturize your skin both morning and night.

Keep your skin soft and supple by making sure you’re properly hydrated, and drink lots of water, green tea, and natural fruit juice throughout the day. Drinking plenty of healthy liquids not only replenishes moisture lost through perspiration, but also helps your body eliminate toxins and keeps your skin clear.

The sun is another skin saboteur, which can be almost unavoidable during the summer. To minimize damage, try to avoid direct exposure to sunlight from 10 AM – 4 PM, when the sun is brightest. If you can’t avoid going outdoors during these times, make sure you’re wearing plenty of high-SPF sunscreen, an SPF lip protector, and choose accessories that keep sun exposure to a minimum, like wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses. Reapply your sun protection every few hours and avoid the aging effects of scorched skin.
