DIY Spa & Wellness: Get Ready To Glow

We all want our summer skin to shine. We show more skin in summertime and we want that skin to look healthy, bright and soft. For obvious reasons, tanning (or burning) is not the best way to get a healthy-looking glow. Instead we recommend daily use of a natural scrub that will exfoliate and invigorate skin to create the brightness you want. Our favorite summer scrub features turmeric (a traditional Indian spice known to have medicinal properties. This turmeric scrub revitalizes the skin by removing dead skin cells and stimulating circulation. And the natural antiseptic qualities of the spice can protect the body from bacterial infection. We recommend applying this scrub every morning before a shower. It will get your blood flowing and your skin glowing.
- 4 tablespoons turmeric powder
- Rose water
Slowly stir rose water into turmeric powder until the mixture has the consistency of a semi-solid, sticky paste. Apply the paste on the whole body, working from the face down. Leave the scrub on for ten minutes. Remove by simply rubbing away with your fingers and palms before bathing.
Note: Do not allow the paste to dry completely on the face or body.
