Cleansing Fire Cider

A fiery brew that is sure to bring heat to the most bitter cold winter day.

Ingredients

1 sliced horseradish root
1 head garlic, chopped
1 red onion, chopped
1 (5-inch) piece ginger root, sliced
1 burdock root, sliced
4 fresh cayenne peppers
2 ounces schizandra berries (available in natural foods stores and online)
16 ounces (or more) apple cider vinegar
~8 ounces unheated honey

Pack dry ingredients tightly into a large jar; cover completely with vinegar. Cover, and let sit for 4 weeks.

Strain and squeeze through cheesecloth into a smaller container.

Add honey in a 1:2 ratio to the liquid (i.e., about 8 ounces honey to about 16 ounces liquid). Stir thoroughly. Pour mixture into a dark-glass container.

Dosage: About 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of cider when symptoms occur.

Take every 10 to 20 minutes, as needed.
