Elderberry Orange Sauce
Once you taste this topping, you'll think of dozens of ways to use it.
- 1 1/2 cup elderberries, rinsed and picked over
- Juice from 2 medium oranges
- 2 tablespoons orange peel zest, cut in long, thin strips
- 1/4 cup agave nectar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
Servings: 2 to 4
Combine all ingredients, except butter, in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer. and cook until it's reduced and slightly thickened.
Remove saucepan from heat and stir in butter.
Serve spooned over fish or chicken.
