Blood Sugar-Lowering Tea

Cinnamon and fruit flavors infuse this healthful, balancing brew.

Ingredients

2 ounces devil’s club bark (available in natural products stores and online)
1/4 to 1/2 ounce of cinnamon bark or chips
8 cups water
1/2 ounce gotu kola (available in natural products stores and online)
1/2 ounce bilberry leaf (available in natural products stores and online)
1/2 ounce bilberry fruit (available in natural products stores and online)
1/2 ounce citrus fruit (orange, lime, etc.)
2 fresh stevia leaves (available in natural products stores and online)

Combine devil’s club and cinnamon, add water and simmer for 20 minutes. Steep overnight.

Add gotu kola, bilberries, bilberry leaves, citrus and stevia, swish around. Steep 20 minutes.

Dosage: 1 cup, 3 times daily, at least two hours apart from other blood-sugar drugs. Continue for 10 days. Repeat for another 10 days before visiting your doctor. After that, take a maintenance dose of 1 ounce of mixture to 1 pint of water daily, indefinitely.
