About the Host
He has trained for more than 20 years in martial arts and yoga and is a master (5th degree Black Belt) of the Lightening Fire Mountain System of Tibetan Kung Fu. He also trained in Lama Yoga, Needle in the Cotton (Tibetan Tai Chi), Chi Gong, acupuncture, herbology, Brazilian Ju Jitsu and Tai Chi Chuan.
Johnsen has explored many forms of meditation, including lucid dreaming and out of body travel. At the Cooper Fitness Center in Dallas, Texas, he received his personal trainer certification. He has trained with some of the most well recognized yoga masters in the world today including Manju Jois, Beryl Bender Birch, Sean Corne, Doug Swenson, Rod Striker and Bryan Kest.
Johnsen has also spent a lifetime studying the effects of nutrition. While serving as Producer of the New You Show, a health talk radio show, Johnsen worked with some of the top names in nutrition in the United States. While there, he also worked with famed nutritionist Jonny Bowden to create a national nutritional supplement company.
Aside from his pursuits in yoga and martial arts, Kurt has owned and operated many businesses. He has dove with sharks in the Blue Hole, hiked Machu Picchu and surfed in Costa Rica. Johnsen is also a musician and a writer.
