Can Men Have Anorexia?

Is male anorexia a myth? Definitely not. Men are susceptible to many of the same societal pressures as women, and male athletes are especially vulnerable. The pressure is direct for wrestlers and boxers, who must fight to stay within a specific weight class, and indirect for gymnast, cyclists, runners, and any other sport in which a low weight is thought to enhance performance. Any behavior can become worrisome when carried to an extreme, but anorexia, can be life-threatening.
