Asthma can be caused by a breakdown in lung function, due to prolonged exposure to pollutant or allergens in the environment. For some, a genetic predisposition towards asthma can take years to develop. Even someone who has never shown symptoms before, can suddenly find herself afflicted with airflow obstruction, bronchospasms and inflammations. Note: Dr. Goldberg, a holistic physician, believes asthma is also caused by kidney dysfunction, not just by lung dysfunction.
