Dog Winter Itch

Hosted by Amy Rosenthal

Amy Rosenthal
Your local pharmacy's shelves aren't filled with skin care products for dogs, but that doesn't mean they don't suffer from the same kinds of skin ailments as humans. In this episode, Jeff shows off a Dead Sea Mud Scrub that's great for exfoliating, moisturizing, and protecting your dog's skin.

I have a dog who has horrendous allergies. He licks and tears up his feet so badly that he gets infected - I currently have him on Baytril and Amoxicillin because the infection was so bad. He regularly chews his feet until they bleed and his toes and feet swell up so painfully that he hobbles on them. He can't be on a steroid like pred or anything right now because he had two cancerous tumors removed and his immune system is low right now. We are just treating the infection and waiting for it to leave before he gets on pred - he has mast cell. However, his prognosis is good--we did aspirations of lymph nodes, sonograms, etc. He doesn't have any new growths and we are just dealing with the infection right now. Is there anything we can do to help his itching? We have him on an immune system booster, he gets fish oil, omega, etc. We even had him on missing link. We have tried everything. Please help!!!
