Can the Cans with DIY Cranberry Sauce
Cranberries help to lower your bad cholesterol and raise your good cholesterol (Kelly's is at 178). Plus, you can get frozen ones all year 'round. Kelly boils hers in water, and then simmers the sauce with Japanese kudzu, a root with great thickening qualities. She adds cinnamon, allspice, and orange zest, for an all-occasion sauce that's also a healthy antidote to the canned cranberry blues. Tip: Go heavy on the orange zest. Add at least a teaspoon.
