Diabetes has become an illness of near-epidemic proportions in the United States. Type 1 Diabetes is usually present from childhood. Type 2 (adult onset) Diabetes, can be brought on by certain risk factors, which include family history or obesity. The symptoms include increased appetite or thirst, frequent urination, vision problems, and fatigue. If you think you might have diabetes, advises Dr. Goldberg, see your physician. He may recommend a change in diet, increased exercise, specific medications, and increased monitoring of your sugar intake.
